Chief Dayo in Puerto Rico
August 13, 2014
To make peace and harmony among different groups of practitioners.
Chief Dayo is well received and well respected by Babalawos world wide. In the picture above is a prime example of him being received by the Afro Cuban Babalawos that reside in Puerto Rico. In order to promote harmony and understanding, this visit with the Babalawos of Puerto Rico took place over a few days in March of 2003 and was one of many visits he has made to PR. The lines of communications are now open and the plan is to build a bridge that will forever connect all the practitioners where ever they are in the world. This was a start for Ifa and Orisa practitioners to be able to go to Puerto Rico and have a connection. Respect and communication has definitely been established and prevalent between the Araba and the Babalawo’s in Puerto Rico. These meetings with Oluwo of Puerto Rico Chief Anthonio Prada and the rest of the Babalawos have resulted in the Araba and the Babalawo’s in Puerto Rico working together in worship, ceremonies, rituals and dialog that will further uplift the Yoruba communities world wide.
